Grow Great by Dreams

Time flies!  I know it has been a little while since I have written a post and since I have off this week from work, I have a little spare time on my hands to update the blog.

Scott went to see his oncologist, Dr. Gruber, today.  It wasn't an MRI visit but just a monthly check-up to review blood test results before the next chemo round.  As usual, Scott's blood tests were great and his neurological exam was flawless.   He is to start his 12th chemo cycle on Thursday and so we began discussing what will happen next.  Dr. Gruber would like to see one more scan - next month - before making any decisions to definitely stop chemotherapy.  So we have an appointment on March 28th for his next MRI scan.  

We are also heading to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston on Thursday this week to get a second opinion from Dr. Wen.  We have seen Dr. Wen twice before and feel confident in his expertise.  We will discuss the MRI scans that Scott had from the fall until now and what he would recommend for Scott going forward.  We will write a blog update with Dr. Wen's opinion sometime next weekend.  Since we are driving up to Boston, we decided to make a weekend out of it.  We're going to take the kids and Grammy with us and visit a Boston attraction or two while we are up there.  If you have any good recommendations, let me know! 

That's about it.  Life is good, actually life is great!  We live our life as normal as all of you but we dream BIG!  We hope, dream and pray that Scott's cancer doesn't return and that someone finds a cure.   As said by  President Woodrow Wilson:  "We grow great by dreams.  All big men are dreamers."   We are dreamers!!    Happy President's Day!
