Scott's Staples are Out

Hi Everyone,

We met with Scott's neuro-surgeon, Dr. Beyerl today. He took out Scott's staples which Scott says didn't hurt much at all. He was happy with Scott post-op scan results and optimistic about his upcoming treatments. Although Scott still can't drive, he can do lots of playing with the kids. In fact, he and Paige were outside playing soccer tonight. For the record, Paige won :) We have also been going for family walks outside after dinner.

He is spending time contacting other doctors and planning his next step. We will see a radiologist on Thursday to get more information about that. Thanks again for all the positive energy, dinners, gifts, support, prayers, and EVERYTHING! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family in our lives.

We love you all,
Julie (and Scott)

  1. For those of you who would like to support this cause, you can order "There is Hope" wristbands from the Brain Tumor Society website - www.tbts.org

I just ordered a bunch for me and the Spoerl clan.

Scott - I am amazed at your progress, but then again, you are a determined guy. Keep up the optimism - I believe it makes all the difference.

If you need any help with research or anything, I'm happy to be of service. Johan and I are on vacation in Avalon most of next week, but can be available for whatever you need. We can even take the kids for an overnight if you want.

Love you both so much and think about you all the time.
    xoxo

  2. Scottie,

I know you are getting a little bored and antsy. Why not make your own doo-rag? Check out this site for a pattern. Give me a call today to let me know how Rosie is doing on the View.

  3. hey there Scott -- I was just reading your recent blogs and came across the one before mine, which is Kate's and which I clearly cannot follow. It's hilarious. Keep 'em coming Kate.

I was out last week and must confess that I watched the view and Rosie is doing a fine job -- you go girl. But, she does seem out of her element what with having to share the light with three other women. worth tuning in though.

You are a champ -- I must say. Your spirit and heart are strong and I know you'll get through all of this fine. You're young and strong. It just sucks that you have to go through it at all.

I think about you every day and send white light and good thoughts your way. (look I ryhmed without even trying).

    Love always,

    Ann (Taylor Hick's future wife).

Scott & Julie: Just heard the news -- please know you're all in my thoughts and prayers. There are few families with as much strength and determination as you guys...and we'll all be there with you, fighting each step of the way. Much love/Doyle
