You Gotta Be!

Those of you who know me well, know I always look for a "sign" that things are going to be OK. I often do this by listening for specific songs to come on the radio while I'm driving in the car. Yesterday I wasn't looking for a sign but on my way to work, one of my favorite songs that I have turned to in the past during hard times came on the radio: You Gotta Be by Des'ree. Here are the lyrics...someone is watching over me and my family! (Kind of felt like it was my Dad watching over us!)

Listen as your day unfolds
Challenge what the future holds
Try and keep your head up to the sky
Lovers, they may cause you tears
Go ahead release your fears
Stand up and be counted
Don't be ashamed to cry

You gotta be
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm
You gotta stay together

We are staying together...Scott is doing well. He is getting used to doing his IV medication 4 times a day and the helmet is becoming another piece of clothing that he wears each day. He started working this week, from home and has managed to weed through the thousands of emails that he received while he was on disability. He has an appointment on Friday with the doctor managing his antibiotics to check his platelet counts in his blood and we see the surgeon in a week to take out the staples.

Other than all of that, we are planning on focusing on getting ready for Christmas. We'll get our tree this weekend as the kids can't wait any longer. Apparently, they have told me that ALL of their friends have their trees already! We need to play catch up!

Have a great rest of the week. I probably won't post daily anymore but I will certainly keep everyone updated on a weekly basis. Thanks again for all of your support!! By the way...our Spoerl Brainstormer team has now raised OVER $26,000!!! Amazing!!

xoxo,
Julie

I wish I lived nearby ... I'd drop the biggest tree I could find in your yard for you to light and decorate ... The kids are right -- you need to focus on some Christmas stuff now. Deck the halls. Bake some cookies. Go see The Nutcracker ... maybe even sit and relax while watching a bad holiday TV special. Enjoy!
