The Greatest Gift

Dear friends, family, and readers of this blog,

It has been a while since I've posted and as most of you who follow this blog know, that usually means that life is good and Scott continues to do well which is exactly what is happening!  The holidays were wonderful.  We spent time with family and friends and also had some time to relax and wind down.  We all gave and received fun and thoughtful gifts to one another and enjoyed in the spirit of giving.  But the greatest gift that we received and continue to receive is the gift of life.  There is an amazing calmness to living life day by day and enjoying being in the moment.  We sometimes falter to plan things ahead but have become experts in spontaneous outings, last minute visits with friends, and just enjoying the days when there are no specific plans.

Scott and I talked about New Year's resolutions for this year.  I said that I wanted to be a better listener and really stop to focus when I'm listening to someone.  It's sometimes hard when your mind is thinking about all the things going on in life but I'm working on it.  Scott's resolution is the best that I've ever heard.  He's resolved to give more hugs!  That's right - give more hugs.  So feel free to help him to keep his resolution all year long when you see him!

Scott continues to take his chemotherapy one week out of every month.  He will continue that until March.  His next scan is on January 24th so help us to pray for a clean scan.  A special thank you to all of you who donated to our Voices Against Brain Cancer team --- we raised $29,367 to fund further research to find a cure!  My Dad would have said "that is tremendous!"
