Miracles Do Happen!

Scott was the talk of the 9th floor of the neurological institute at Columbia Presbyterian today (Wednesday) after his MRI results were revealed to the doctor.  His MRI showed that all the tumors have virtually disappeared!  That's right --- the tumors are gone!  We were all speechless.....thrilled, surprised, ecstatic....and speechless!   The immuno-therapy treatment that almost killed him is, at this moment, the miracle that we have been looking to find.  The kids are beyond happy as are the rest of us!  Scott and the doctor are pioneers in the treatment of brain cancer!!  It is truly amazing and just goes to prove that you should always keep fighting and keep looking for new solutions and cures!

Even though these are the BEST results we could ask for, Scott still has a long road to full recovery.  He will need to continue therapy to re-route the brain functions that were damaged when brain cells were killed by tumor and treatment.  He also needs to go off the anti-rejection medication for the liver and make sure his liver will function on it's own.  He also has increased pressure from cerebral fluid because the shunt is still malfunctioning (we will see the surgeon about this soon).

For the immediate moment, we will bask in all the glory of the moment and pray that it lasts long enough for me to grow old with him!

Thank you all for the prayers and positive energy you dedicate to Scott - it's proof that miracles can happen! Thank God for that!

xoxo,
Julie
