Memorial Day Weekend

It was a good and quiet long weekend at the Spoerl house.  The kids went to Ocean City, NJ with our good friends, the Marusics while we relaxed at the house.  We were able to use the new lift to get Scott out of bed and into the wheelchair for about 2-3 hours each day Friday through Monday.   We tried to plan it when we had family or friends visiting so that he would be able to spend some time sharing a meal and enjoying the warm (hot!) weather.   We even wheeled him up to Springfield Avenue to see the Memorial Day parade.  I got teary eyed and choked up as I watched the EMTs, police and rescue squad pass by in the parade.  One EMT even came over to Scott and gave him a hug.
